Turmeric for your Health

I am a true believer in taking more natural approaches to health.

In this article we will discuss the benefits of taking turmeric for your health.

Let’s just start by saying that I am not a doctor, but I am living proof Turmeric works.  Ever since I started taking that first teaspoon I could feel the difference in my body.
It has been three years now and by taking turmeric everyday I have had fewer colds and viruses.  That means less visits to the doctor for me and my family.  My body and organs all function at the top of the charts, and doctors are amazed at the overall health, not just in me, but in the whole family.

We all have cancer cells in our body and every one of us has been affected by the ruin cancer brings to our lives.  Whether you have had it yourself, a family member, or someone close to you, the fact is its everywhere.  Turmeric fights those cancer cells in your body without destroying it.   Believe it or not this is possible and it does it all without you having the side affects that chemo and other treatments give.  In fact you won’t even know that turmeric is doing its job.

Just think, by implementing a small habit into your daily lives, you will be improving your overall health, not just for today and tomorrow, but for your life.  No wonder why in India it is treasured.  Turmeric is truly a priceless gem.

Let’s recap what we’ve just learned.

        Why take it?

  • It is a major player in the game of keeping major organs in your body healthy, such as your Heart, Liver, Stomach to name just a few.
  • Helps keep everything functioning, even with our not so healthy diets and habits.
  • A natural cancer preventer and blood purifier.

I could go on and on, but you get the general idea it is beneficial to you and your health.

       How to take it?

Warm cup of goodness
Warm cup of goodness
  • With warm milk
  • In a smoothie
  • With coffee
  • Hot chocolate
  • Capsules
  • With food

  In What quantity?
It is recommended that an adult take 1 tsp per day, this however depends on your body.  For instance, when I took 1 tsp the very first time, it ended up cleansing out my system in a matter of a day.  Let’s just say that is not how I would have preferred it.  I then cut the amount in half and within a week I was back to taking a full teaspoon, this time with no side effects.  My husband, however, had no problem with the full dosage from day one.  I would suggest trying half and working your way to the full teaspoon.   For children I would suggest on altering it to their age and weight.  My five-year old takes a 1/4 teaspoon daily or a capsule when we are on the road and has had no problems.

  Side effects?
As I’ve explained above, too much at one time, especially if you are just starting, can cause a cleansing or detox.  Other than that I have not experienced any other side effects.

Note: If you have cancer, my heart goes out to you.  I have had melanoma and my baby sister just went through unbelievable odds and is on the recovery from leukemia.

I am not suggesting you drop your doctor’s advice and just take Turmeric, but I truly believe it can be a part of your healing.  Do more research and approach your doctor with your findings.  Hopefully they will have an open mind when it comes to natural medicines.  If not perhaps you should get a second opinion.  Here is a link for more information on general benefits http://botanical.com

Warning: Ask your doctor if you are pregnant and/or breastfeeding.  Seek a second opinion if you feel they are telling you no just because they don’t believe in herbal type medicines.

This is some great advice! I’ve never tasted turmeric before. Does it have a particularly strong flavor? I might add it to some smoothies this summer!

    • It has an acquired taste Sarah, but in a smoothie you can’t taste it. I personally like the acquired taste, but you won’t know until you try it:).
