Beauty is often misplaced or misunderstood. Our culture puts so much emphasis on being beautiful, with tips in every magazine, store, and commercial. We look to the outside, but the innermost beautiful part gets forgotten. I don’t see any advertisements helping a person, woman or man, find the beauty within. Where are the articles and isles that help with that? No wonder we have become so superficial and egotistic as a society.
Have you ever experienced a time when you met a person, but not in person? You were forced in a way to listen and learn about them because that’s what you had. You could not go out and be entertained, or do anything that was physically related. Instead, you listened, asked questions, learned everything about that person that made them who they are. In the end, it was the inner beauty of that person that kept drawing you to them and not how they looked. After knowing them for a while you finally decide to meet. I can tell you first hand, that person will be more beautiful to you than any model or bodybuilder because a beautiful heart outshines anybody or face.
Keeping yourself in shape is important and doing things that make you look more attractive are not bad either. I ask you this though. Do you put or spend as much time creating beautiful insides as you do out? Where do your priorities lie? If someone was to see your innermost feelings and thoughts, what would they look like? To say it clearly and without strings attached. Where is your heart?
The essence of beauty is transient, short-lived, fleeting. It’s in the eye of the beholder, relative to the correlation of things at hand and our mood at any given moment. It is fairer and better than what we see or hear. It is born out of the commonplace, household life, personal relations, beating heart, meeting eyes, poverty, necessity, hope, and fear, And, finally, the real celebrating of its presence comes as we recall it in our memory replaying the old records of our thoughts, gazing at the gallery of pictures with the eye of remembrance, and singing the song that is going on within us, a song to which we listen.
These moments are the pinnacles of our experience, lifting us out of the dreary circumstances and giving us pleasure and delight until we fail back and again become our ordinary selves. They must be interwoven into our daily existence in order to make life endurable and sweet. -Luci Swindoll
Looking beyond a person’s body is to know a love deeper than anything. God created us with intelligence and I wonder why we so often don’t use that. We act like animals at times instead of caring, understanding beings, ones that have been given the greatest minds.

When I set out to write this post, this was the first verse that came to mind. So many things in life are fleeting like jobs, sports cars, jewelry, make-up, motorcycles etc. They bring happiness into your life for a time and then they are gone. The kind of happiness that stays is the happiness that comes from within, not from an object.
I’m going to end but would like you to think on this thought. Where is it that your Beauty Lies?
If the inside needs a little more attention then there’s no time like the present to start working on it.
